Estancia/TeWinkle Schools Foundation

The Estancia and TeWinkle Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to contributing significant funds for projects and programs that will produce substantial and lasting benefits for the students of Estancia High School and TeWinkle Intermediate School.

ETSF administers an educational endowment that was initially capitalized with a one million dollar donation from C.J. Segerstrom and Sons, a Costa Mesa real estate development company. Like all endowments, this initial gift was intended not to be spent, but instead the principal endowment funds are to be preserved and cultivated through careful investments in perpetuity. Only the earnings or a portion of the earnings income from the endowment are used each year for the benefit of students at Estancia and TeWinkle. The earnings income, presently amounting to about $50,000 per year, is disbursed in annual grants to the two schools.

The Foundation is the main organization providing supplemental financial support for academics, arts, activities, and athletics at Estancia and TeWinkle.  With state education dollars severely limited, the Foundation plays a crucial funding role by providing Estancia and TeWinkle with carefully targeted grants that promote student achievement and academic excellence on each campus.

Four Pillars

Our mission has four pillars:

  • Educational excellence for all Estancia and TeWinkle students;
  • Enrichment programs that produce well-rounded, intellectually curious, responsible, and fully engaged citizens;
  • A well equipped and inviting environment which enhances academic life and work at each campus;
  • The mobilization of support from all of Estancia’s  TeWinkle’s constituents - students, faculty, parents, alumni, and the community at large.

Ways to Give

Unrestricted Gifts: Your tax-deductible donations to the General Fund are disbursed in annual grants to the schools, as determined by the Foundation board, in consultation with school leadership teams.  Donating to the General Fund allows the Foundation Board to direct funds to meet identified school-wide needs.

Designated Donor Gifts: These tax-deductible gifts are donations for a designated purpose such as to support a particular academic department, arts program, or athletic equipment or facility needs.

Endowment Gifts: These tax-deductible contributions are made directly to the endowment fund, which generates income that is distributed to the schools in annual grants.  As the endowment fund grows, the size of the annual grants also grow.

The Gift of Your Time and Talent:  The Foundation needs and welcomes volunteers who can assist with fundraising efforts, community outreach, and other important tasks.

Each contribution to the Foundation will be gratefully received and carefully appropriated to provide enhanced educational opportunities for the students of Estancia and TeWinkle.
